This quantity includes evaluate articles overlaying a wide variety of issues in snapshot processing and research. the subjects lined contain photo research - which has united and harmonized a number of heterogeneous fabric; modern methods to the Fourier remodel; quantity theoretic transforms, that are really appealing for discrete, finite indications; using the Wigner distribution - which encodes either spatial and spectral details, for photo filtering; and functions of the concept that of knowledge power. those up to date surveys are meant to supply the reader with entry to the most recent leads to the tremendous energetic box of picture technology.

Particle Physics and the Universe: Proceedings of the 9th Adriatic Meeting, Sept. 2003, Dubrovnik

The focal point of the contributions contained during this court cases is the interaction among cosmology, astroparticle physics and particle physics, either from the theoretical and experimental viewpoint. The Adriatic conferences have normally been one of many only a few physics meetings dedicated to the main complex prestige of technology whereas aiming at a really wide participation of either younger and skilled researchers with assorted backgrounds in particle physics.

5. The voltage-current characteristics of a barrier layer have been considered theoretically, and good agreement is found between experiment and theory, particularly for blocking layer rectifiers of the copper oxide 34 ALBERT 8. EISENSTEIN type. Wrightbl has extended Mott’s theoryea to oxide cathode interfaces with considerable success, explaining the electrical characteristics of probes imbedded in the coating. This theory is applicable if the interface is considered to be an insulator or to have a much lower conductivity than the oxide.

Consistent but weak diffraction patterns were observed from the interface on a pure nickel base but too few lines were obtained to make identification possible. It is interesting to note that when both barium and strontium are present in the oxide, only barium enters into the interface compound. Use of a pure SrO coating gives rise to the interface compounds Sr2Si04, SrzTiOl and the stable strontium equivalent of the chromium containing compound. All are isomorphic with the equivalent barium compounds which have slightly larger lattice constants.

Equating these expressions through the common term exp [ ( F - co)/kT]results in the ratio, Only if x is independent of a change in cathode activity, should eq. (25) result in a linear relationship between j~and u. The electron affinity x is directly related to the surface dipole moment which in the earlier emission theories governed the emission process. The invariance of x over three orders of magnitude of emission current offers a definite point 42 ALBERT 8. EISENSTEIN of conflict with any theory which defines the emission process as only a surface phenomena.
